Land Class V

Rocky, shallow soil, moisture or steep slope making agriculture impossible. Grazing, forestry, catchment area. Recreation, wildlife. No special precautions, if appropriate, for grazing or logging it should not be plowed.

Land Class VI

Moderate limitations for grazing (livestock) and forestry. Grazing, forestry, catchment area, urban industry. Recreation, wildlife. Grazing and logging should be limited to certain periods

Land Class VII

Severe limitations for grazing (livestock) and forestry. Grazing, forestry, catchment area, recreation, aesthetic landscape, wildlife. Careful management is needed for grazing or logging

Land Class VIII

Unsuitable for grazing or forestry because of steep slopes, shallow soil, lack of water or too much water. Recreation, aesthetic landscaping, wildlife, urban industry. Should not be used for grazing or logging
